Peter is the Principal Dentist at Abbots Lodge Dental Practice. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1987 and began his career in Community Dentistry in Edinburgh, caring for patients who found it difficult to access general dental services. After completing a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee, Peter went on to work in hospitals across West Lothian, providing dental care for long-stay patients and nursing home residents, alongside his work in general practice.

With decades of experience and a genuine passion for dentistry, Peter brings a depth of knowledge and compassion to his work. He has a particular fondness for creating dentures — a subject that formed part of his Master’s degree — and takes great satisfaction in restoring comfort and confidence to his patients. He is also highly experienced in treating periodontal (gum) disease and has undertaken extensive further training in orthodontic treatment.

Peter’s vision for Abbots Lodge Dental Practice is to provide a warm, welcoming, and innovative dental experience that reflects how far modern dentistry has come. Together with his dedicated team, he strives to deliver care that combines professionalism, compassion, and a personal touch.

Outside of dentistry, Peter lives in Ferring with his wife, Kath. They have four grown-up children and five grandchildren. Away from the practice, he enjoys reading, painting with oils, and listening to music — particularly early U2 and renaissance polyphony. For many years, Peter also served as one of the leaders at Redeemer Church in Worthing.
